Afflicted, Addicted and Conflicted
The seriously messed up people out-number the people who appear to have it all together by about 25 to 1. I'm talking about the people in the Bible! They still deal with anger, depression, sexual impurity, chronic dishonesty, you name it. This sermon series, starting February 13th is designed to make us more honest, but less discouraged. Using a selection of Old Testament, real-life, biographical screw-ups, given to us by the Holy Spirit through the God-breathed text of Scriptures, we'll discover the good news that these character flaws can be countered, confronted, exposed and battled against. The twin benefits of being more honest with ourselves and aware of our hearts is a) it makes us more aware of our need for Jesus, and b) more aware of the his amazing grace and power toward us!
